Maxi Love

{ON dress, sweater (similar), & boots (similar) | fossil watch | boyfriend's belt | gifted earring | dogeared necklace}

There's not much to say about a maxi dress that hasn't already been said.  Comfy, flattering, lengthening, easy to top with a sweater and fool your friends into thinking it's a skirt...what's not to love?

Linking here today.

Layered

{sweater: gap  //  button up: delias  //  jeans: limited  //  belt: h&m  //  scarf (pinned as infinity): old navy  //  boots: payless  //  watch: sprout, via pure citizen}

We got a little bit of snow over the weekend.  It blanketed everything in shimmering white flakes and made it peaceful, quiet, and.....cold.  So very cold.
Hunny bunny & I went for a walk, so I knew I needed to layer up a bit to keep warm.
And since it was predominantly grey/white outside, I thought I'd throw some punchy pops of color into my outfit to brighten things up.
It put me in a happy mood, but it was no match for the 24 degree weather.
At least it kept me upbeat while I was freezing my entire body off.

Great Lengths

{sweater: gap  //  dress: target   //  belt: thrifted  //  boots: steve madden  //  necklace: gift}

When I bought this dress in the summer, I never imagined I'd wear it so much in the winter.  But paired with a belted sweater, leggings, and knee high boots, 13 degrees was feeling like a toasty 22.

Rain Check

{sweater: gap  //  button up: jcp  //  jeans: gap  //  shoes: payless  //  belt: f21  //  watch: sprout}

Today I'm relegated to taking photos inside.  Rain is no fun.  But singing in(doors while staying nice and cozy and dry, while gazing out the window at) the rain is.

Lightly Chilled

{poncho sweater: target  //  long sleeve tee: old navy  //  jeans: limited  //  belt: thrifted  //  boots: steve madden intyce  //  scarf: h&m  //  bracelts: india & payless}

Last night I ran 5.6 miles in 58 minutes.  That's just 1/2 mile less than the furthest I've ever run in my whole life.
And this time it didn't even feel like my ankles were going to break.
All this cold weather might be good for something, after all.

Date Night

{maxi dress: target  //  sweater: gap  //  scarf: h&m  //  belt: gifted  //  boots: report, via zappos}

Last night was supposed to be date night.  And if you recall yesterday's post, I had planned to really dress up to go out.  You know - sweat pants, an old tee shirt & hoodie, unwashed hair tied up in a scrunchie.  The works.
But then I thought, "Why embarrass my poor boyfriend tonight when there are just so many other opportunities in which to embarrass him.  Let's give him a break."
So I put on this outfit, because it's kind of stylish while still remaining laid back and comfy.
And you know what?  This outfit was the apparel equivalent of the kiss of death.  Because we wound up getting a little too cozy at home to want to go out anywhere.  (I knew I should have stuck with the sweats).

But we did emerge for a walk around the neighborhood and got to meet this little guy.
Isn't he gorgeous?  Look at those eyes!  Is it strange to be completely and utterly jealous of a dog's eyes?  No?  I didn't think so either.

Too Much of a Good Thing

{sweater & boots: alloy  //  dress: delias  //  belt: forever21}

We have been having a tough time getting a chance to take photos before we're running back into the house for any of the following reasons:
a. the blood-thirsty mosquitoes are becoming just a tad too aggressive
b.the sun is rapidly setting and we're running out of daylight fast
c. it's either way too sticky hot or quickly becoming too chilly

So when we found ourselves in comfy weather with ample time, plenty of sunlight, and only a few pesky mosquitoes, we really went overboard with the pictures.  I'm talking like 150 photos.  And while it's nice to have choices, it's tough having too many choices.  Like 150 choices that someway, somehow all came out pretty decent.

In other news, I had bought this dress about 6 or 7 years ago and never wore it!!  I was so happy to finally pull it off the hanger and wear it around town.  And then the zipper broke and I got stuck in it until my boyfriend lovingly ripped it apart to free me.  (Amazingly, he was able to fix it again for future wearings.  What a man.)
