I didn't know it when I got dressed the other day, but this would turn out to be my spend 4 1/2 hours in Ikea just to exchange a frying pan outfit. As if that wasn't bad enough, I am convinced that the returns/exchange area is the only place in the entire three-story behemoth that isn't air conditioned. My conspiracy theory is that since they know you have to wait there, they make it warm to drive up the sales of their irresistibly cheap ice cream cones, conveniently located right next to the waiting area. Paranoid? Probably. But you go to an Ikea in a heavily populated area on a Saturday and tell me you don't see one in every three people with a delicious cone of soft serve. Their tactic may or may not have worked on me. Twice. I'm onto you, Ikea.

These shorts.  These perfectly fitting, not-too-tight, not-too-loose, totally comfy, just-the-right-color, perfectly shredded & destroyed shorts.  It's not often that I buy denim of any kind, because it's not the easiest task finding just the right pair that both looks and feels good.  Plus I'm lazy and usually give up after trying on a few flops.  So when I find that perfect pair, it is always a cause for small celebration.  Or a glass of champagne at least (I'll take any excuse).  And these shorts, my friends, are the Goldilocks of shorts.  They are juuuust right.

If you're inclined to snag a pair for yourself, I'd advise you to hurry because they are going fast.  It looks like this wash is already sold out online (always a chance they're still in stores, though), and the darker wash seems pretty close to the same fate.

This right here is an example of my "Oh my god it's so hot outside I can't stand to wear clothing but I really want to get fast food so I need to leave the house and I'll probably be arrested if I wear nothing, so fine I'll just put something on" kind of outfit.  At first I found myself reaching for a maxi dress for this muggy, 90 degree weather, but quickly remembered that I've already made that mistake once before.  I'm no genius, but I know better than to do the same thing twice and expect a different result.  The only exception: me circa 1989. The repeat offender?  Huge, teased bangs.  The result?  Never very flattering. But boy, I wasn't going to let that stop me from trying.  (Thank goodness I wasn't a teenager then, or things really might have gotten out of control.)
