On Repeat

{top (on sale): gap  |  skirt, belt: jcp  wedges: payless (similar)  |  bracelets: f21, delias, handmade}

I have a confession to make.  I am a repeat offender.
Not only did I wear this top in my last post (as seen here), but I may have also worn it four times this past week alone.
I just can't help myself - the fabric is so soft and flowy, the shape is super flattering, and if it was 90 degree weather for 5 days straight where you lived, you wouldn't want to wear sleeves, either.
In fact, this tank is so perfectly lightweight, it barely feels like I'm wearing it at all.  And when humidity is at 85%, feeling naked is a much more viable (and legal) option than actually being naked, amiright?

Double Trouble

{top & scarf: target  //  skirt & jacket: i heart ronson, via jcp  //  belt & bracelet: forever21  //  boots: zappos  //  knee high socks: asos  //  tights: old navy  //  mittens: 5below}

This week I decided to participate in Rule Breaking Monday on clothedmuch.com.  Yes, I know it's Wednesday - better late than never, am I right?
So when I first chose the title "Double Trouble," I was referring to the fact that I was wearing double florals, as the challenge goes.  It was only when I started the photo shoot that I realized how much trouble I was really getting myself into.  So much so, that I wonder if I shouldn't have named this post triple, or even quadruple trouble.

Obstacle number one was trying to shoot photos while racing against a rapidly setting sun.  So....my apologies for the blurry photos.

I didn't even notice the next trouble until I was reviewing the photos.  My belt had ridden up a bit, so some of my top is showing from underneath the belt.  Let's just pretend that didn't happen, shall we?

The third frustration was that by the time we happened upon some decent lighting (behind the movie theater...creepy), it had gotten so chilly that I had added tights and legwarmers, and I just couldn't bear to remove my jacket & mittens.  So, the last (and completely clear) photos are a slightly altered version of my original outfit.

But I did rock the double floral thing, so...take that trouble.

The Mullet

{blazer & top: target  //  skirt & belt: i heart ronson, via jc penny  //  tights: ??  //  boots: steve madden intyce  //  bracelets, earrings: target, delias, diy  //  nail polish: 5below}

I like to call this look the mullet because it's business on the top, party on the bottom.  Sit me behind a desk and you'd think I was professional, serious, and ready to get down to business.  But once I get up to offer you coffee or a pastry*, hello purple tights!  Nothing says party animal quite like a pair of purple tights, don't you think?

*I am by no means professional or serious, so I can only speculate as to what a professional serious person might do.  In my imagination she would offer you coffee and a pastry.  I think I've seen it done on TV.  And TV never lies.
