Feelin' Fine

This weekend was good for my mind, body, and soul.  

On Friday I got to spend some cozy time with my hunny bunny, snuggling under blankets while eating homemade soup and watching a movie.

On Saturday, we hung out with friends and shared dinner and lots of laughs.

We ended the weekend with a run - 4 miles in the freezing 8 degree cold, with interval sprints. Would you believe me if I told you it felt great?

At Last...

At last, my love has come along.  In the form of red jeans, that is.  I'd been hardcore coveting a pair  for months, but search as I may, I couldn't find any that were flattering.

And then Urban Outfitters came along.

I think this the beginning of a beautiful friendship.

Going Places

I  just realized that every time I take photos in this location, it's because I'm on my way out. 

This is my front yard which is conveniently located right next to the driveway.  It's practically on my way to the car.  I mean, for just 10 more steps I could have taken photos here instead (which I happen to find a little more interesting).

Nothing like spending 10+ hours a week on a blog to make you realize how lazy you are.

Sacrifice

I have owned this long sleeve lace top for a little over a year now, and never quite knew what to wear it with.  I remember having a distinct idea for an outfit when I bought it, but it seems that the time it takes between ordering the shirt online and it arriving at my doorstep is just long enough to completely obliterate that idea from my mind.  (Thank you, 32 year old brain.)

So when I put on this outfit, I practically felt like a genius.
Yes, it's simple, but I think the lace peeking out from the blazer gives it an unexpected twist.
The only downside - cold wrists.
Oh, the sacrifices I make for fashion.

Over-Zealous Brusher

Ok, can we just talk about the 65 degree weather we had here in NJ on Saturday?  In January?!  Amazingly gorgeous.

Anyway.

I had just gone to the dentist and was told that I'm an over-zealous brusher.  I've always suspected that I had an enthusiastic outlook on oral hygiene, but apparently I've been a little too eager in my endeavors.  My rough brushing was actually causing pits in my enamel.  Who knew?  Well, now you do.

Other than that, though, my dentist raved about my clean mouth.  It was warm & sunny & it felt nice to have someone acknowledge all that flossing I've been doing.  Plus I was too warm in this outfit (may I remind you that it's January in NJ). 

I couldn't ask for a better Saturday.

This is what it looks like when you've just come back from practically running to the library to make it before they closed.

A little wind-swept, a little flushed, and a little disappointed.

There was short-lived excitement when the system told you that the final Harry Potter movie you've been waiting for months to borrow finally came for you, but once you got there, it became clear there was a glitch in the matrix and you, in fact, will not be watching the film tonight because it didn't actually arrive after all.

 Plus, you just finished the {completely wonderful and engaging} novel you were reading, and now all you have left to read are self-improvement books written by Clinton Kelly.

Also, you're eating a slice of fruitcake because someone actually gave you a fruitcake for Christmas and you're too lazy to cook dinner.

I'll admit it - today's outfit was kind of a lazy girl cop-out.  It's cold.  I don't like the cold.  And I get extra lazy in the cold.  All I want is to be cozy and warm.  Nothing fancy, nothing trendy, just good old fashioned fuzzy animal hats to keep the heat in.

Can I get an amen?
