Montreal

{view from Mont Royal, the mountain that Montreal is named after}

Last week my boyfriend and I went to Montreal to celebrate our 6 year anniversary.  It was our first time there and we both sort of fell in love with the entire city.  It's artsy with colorful graffiti almost everywhere; has lots of quaint cobblestone roads; it's friendly, hip, diverse, and just a fantastic time!  We spent a few days there enjoying delicious food, practicing our French with the friendly & patient (and thankfully also English-speaking) people, stopping at cafes to sit outside for a drink or bite to eat on pedestrian-only streets, and oh yeah, wandering around a huge week-long music festival that happened to be taking place 2 blocks from our hotel!

Here are some of my favorite memories from our little getaway.
{love this!}
{"Rue D'Artistes" - everything in these shops was made by local artisans in Quebec}
{my very favorite graffiti of them all}
{view of Montreal from a pier on the Lawrence River}
{brunch: a delicious buckwheat crepe filled with gruyere cheese, potatoes, & sour cream = amazing}
{a truly artistic take on cupcake decoration}
{we loved the topsy-turvy wonkiness of this restaurant; very Suessian}
 {Chinatown}
{Old Montreal}
{beautiful dual level outdoor restaurant we ate at}
{it has just 3 huge, inverted teepees strategically placed to collect the rain & keep everyone dry}
{a little trompe l'oeil going on}

If you ever have the chance, I highly recommend visiting Montreal.  It's like a little bit of Europe in North America.  I promise you will love it.*

*If you are super adventurous/crazy and decide to go during winter, I'm sure you'll have an amazing time but promises that you will love possibly being in -10 degree weather and/or 2 feet of snow not guaranteed.

Linking up today.

Also, there's don't forget to enter the Urban Decay Naked Palette Giveaway!!
