Live From New York

{top: alloy  //  jeans: gap  //  cowboy booties: old navy  //  necklace: gift  //  bracelets: delias, target, handmade}

I love this outfit.  It's so easy, breezy, hippie chic.  What I didn't love, though, was taking these outfit photos in front of a live audience.
That's right, what you don't see is that there were bleachers full of people with not much else to look at than some chick getting her photo taken in front of a pane of glass that overlooks a street.  Then again, it's New York City.  They probably didn't even notice I was there.

(Photos were taken at High Line Park.  If you ever have the chance, check it out.  It's a unique fusion of natural elements and creative urban landscaping that was thoughtfully planned and beautifully executed.)

Quickie

{tee: converse, via target  //  shorts: limited (cut off from jeans)  //  sandals: o'neill, via pacsun}

 This photo was taken in the lovely city of Biel, Switzerland which is where we stayed for the majority of our trip.  On this particular day, hunny bunny and I took a morning walk to grab breakfast and to buy tickets for a party we were going to the next day.  In the midst of our vacation-y errands (because how can I seriously call taking a leisurely stroll for breakfast and buying party tickets an actual, real life errand?) we had a  little photo session quickie when no one was looking.  Ooo, we're so naughty.

The Hills Are Alive...

{tee: forever21  //  tank: target  //  hoodie: kohl's  //  jeans: the limited  //  hiking shoes: salomon  //  scarf: h&m  //  camera bag: walmart}

I just couldn't resist a Sound of Music reference.  I mean, it's the Swiss Alps.  It was all I could do not to put my hair in Heidi braids and go twirling joyfully through the mountains, Julie Andrews style.
Today's outfit was way more functional than fashionable, since we spent several hours hiking (mostly uphill).  But it was cute, comfy, and even the cows seemed to enjoy it.  (Yes, the mountains are virtually littered with free roaming cows).  One was so enthralled with me that she followed until I stopped to pet her for a bit.  True story.

I've included some extra photos below simply for your viewing pleasure.  Because Switzerland is just so. dang. gorgeous.  And the cows are happy too.  Look - I took pictures of some just for proof.  See?  That's pure joy right there.

{a blissfully happy cow}

Step One! We Can Have Lots of Fun

No, I'm not a super huge, undying, "mary me Joey McIntyre!" NKOTB fan - but I used to be.  Which is probably why "Step by Step" instantly popped into my head when I was trying to think of a post title containing the word "one".  And why is this word  important enough to compel me to not only think about a New Kids song, but to actually go find (and watch the entire) video on youtube?  Because this is my number one very first post.  On this blog.  Ever.
And now I've gone and gotten that little tune stuck in your head for the rest of the day.*

Oh, and of course the outfit.  These photos were taken a few weeks ago when my hunny bunny and I were in Switzerland.  Hence the french graffiti and charmingly European backgrounds.  The next few posts will contain outfits in the most amazingly beautiful settings you can imagine.  I'm talking Swiss Alps here.  But I live in NJ, so don't get too used to it.
