Touchy Feely

**Have you entered the Chicwish giveaway?**

{sears top | ON cardi (similar) | express diy cutoffs | payless shoes (similar) | jessica simpson bag | fossil watch | f21, stella & dot, target bracelets}

I don't know about you, but I'm a big fan of texture.  I'm the one in the museum who occasionally ignores the signs kindly asking us to refrain from touching the artwork.  I'm the kind of person who sticks her hands wrist-deep into containers of bird seed at the pet shop, or who crouches down to touch lamb's ear every time she spots the plant.  The one who appreciates feeling a crumbly brick wall, a particularly soft cat, or a skein of nubby yarn.  The person who needs to feel and touch anything that looks like it'd be interesting to feel or touch.  The girl who spied this top and was overjoyed at the different textures contained within it.  The intricate & slightly scratchy lace contrasted by the soft scoops of crochet.  I can hardly keep my hands off myself.

Ditto

{target tank (similar) | f21 shorts | ON hat (similar) | skechers shoes | fossil watch | gifted bracelets (similar 1, 2)}

I kind of just copycatted my own outfit {here} without even realizing it.  What can I say; I guess in my world denim shorts just scream for some combination of neon & white, a pair of toms lookalikes (mine are bobs by skechers - same do-good concept, cheaper price), and the ol' fedora.  This warm weather sure has my creativity in overdrive, let me tell you.

Shape Shifter

{target dress (similar) | sears top | f21 sandals (similar) & brown bracelet | gifted necklace & bracelets (similar}

I am well aware that this dress has sort of a funny shape, and may not be the most flattering on my body.  In fact, when I first bought it it looked better, but when I washed & dried it, the crocheted band near the knees shrunk and the rest didn't, leaving this kind of reverse tulip shape.  Which sounds pretty, but actually isn't.  But it's all good because I love the way I feel in this outfit, despite its distorted shape.  Sort of boho, sort of hippie, and utterly comfortable.  Plus, one of my very best friends who moved to Switzerland a year and a half ago arrives tomorrow (!!!) to spend the next 3 months working here in NYC.  I'm just way too thrilled to care that my dress is an undercover shape shifter.  My friend is coming back!

Lovely Lace

Lately I've found myself with a fixation on all things lace.  It's such a pretty and feminine fabric with unique patterns and a decidedly vintage vibe.  What can I say; I've been lusting over lace, drooling over doilies, and crushing on crochet.  Can we all just agree that we can learn a valuable lesson from knitting grannies everywhere?
