What a Lovely Winter We're Having This Spring

Spring Fling

{outfit 1}
dress | jacket | mirrored sunnies | bracelet 1, 2 | nail stickers

{outfit 2}
sweater | blazer | shorts | floral sunnies | bracelet | bag | nail stickers

Even though it is officially my birthday, and even though it is officially snowing on my birthday - in April - my mind is still lingering on last weekend when we had some seriously warm weather.  (On a side note, I've concluded that April is simply the month to be bipolar.  We've gone from a summery 80° to 34° & snowing in a matter of 3 days.  If I wasn't so bummed, I'd be impressed.).

Eternal hopeful that I am, I literally believe the sun will come out tomorrow (or at the very least, two or three days after tomorrow), and that it one day will be warm(ish) again. When that day comes, my wish is to be wearing one of these outfits from Sheinside.  A gorgeous maxi and a badass vegan leather jacket, or festival denim shorts with a soft chunky sweater and structured blazer.  I'll happily don either.  I can't wait for the end of the lovely winter we're having this spring.

Come party with me!

I'm Thankful for...Jessi

Taking over today is my gorgeous friend, Jessi, of Haircut and General Attitude.  She is one of my favorite people in the blogosphere - she is sweet, has a great sense of humor, and an awesome style that features lots of stuff our grannies would wear, but in the most modern way imaginable.  Besides, we're both vegetarian and hate cold weather.  I think we may be soul mates.

Outfit Details:
Jeans - ModCloth
Sweater - H&M
Vest - JCP
Bag - Target
Booties - Forever Young
Necklaces - Local Boutiques

Hey loves! I'm Jessi and I'm super excited to be borrowing Kym's blog for the day while she's vacationing.  Me and Kym go way back.  Well, kind of.  We've just been bloggy friends forever :)  She's the best.  We bonded over our many similarities and crappy weather.  And every time I come here I leave laughing!  I love that!

Anywho, today I'm sharing an outfit fit for Thanksgiving Dinner.  Something totally comfortable but with dressed up details.  I love the idea of wearing a stretchy sweater like this one to hide the little gut I'm sure to get from all that food ;)  The vest adds some more detail (and more tummy-coverage) and the little bit of bling on the collar is my favorite! Add a little jewelry and some fun heeled booties, and I'm ready to feast!  Oh, and the hair totally fits the Thanksgiving theme, right?  I mean it looks kinda pilgrim-y to me...

Well, here's to a fulfilling Thanksgiving for all!  As a fellow vegetarian I won't be having any turkey but I'm sure I'll devour my fair share of mashed potatoes and pumpkin pie!  Mmmm....

I'm Thankful for...Tara

Taking over today is my buddy, and fellow New Jerseyan, Tara from Penniless Socialite.  I have had the pleasure of meeting her in real life and she is just as sweet and wickedly funny in person as she is online.  Every time I visit her blog I leave laughing (seriously, wait until you read what she wrote below).  Fantastic style and a killer sense of humor.  If I was a dude I'd be in love.

Hello Bitty and Bunny fans! I'm Tara and I blog over at Penniless Socialite.  I was super happy when Kym asked me to fill in for her while she's away on a holiday!  However, I was not so excited about the topic...food or fashion on Thanksgiving.  You see, I have a terrible secret.  I am a terrible cook...like toast burning bad.  And there is a part 2 of my secret, holidays are the only days of my life that are not a fashion show.  On holidays like Thanksgiving, I wear (hope you're sitting down for this) SWEATPANTS.  So I figured Kym's readers didn't want to see me in my cut off sweatpants / shorts (yep, worse than you first thought) or see pictures of pre-made pies I purchase.  Instead, I am showing you a few of my favorite holiday looks (that I have worn on non-holidays).  Consider this my list of things I'd wear if I wore real clothes on holidays.

holiday dresses 2
1. Cats on a dress always make it more fabulous, especially when they're cats from Anthropologie.  If you've ever seen my Instagram, you should assume that cats belong at every holiday.
2. My Dulcie Dress from Anthropologie is one of my favorite party frocks.  I've worn it to countless weddings and it would look great at the Thanksgiving table.
3. Red is always a great color during a holiday celebration...and patterned tights just make it that much more celebratory.

4. Whoever told you black and brown don't go together is a liar.  This Target dress has made appearances at multiple parties during the winter months.
5. Lace and frills always have a seat at my holiday table.
6. Sparkle makes every holiday better.  Too bad this dress doesn't even belong to me.  I rented it for a wedding from Rent the Runway.

So, I hope you stop by my blog every other day of the year (except holidays) to see some fabulous outfit posts!

I'm Thankful For...Joyce

Next up is my friend, Joyce, of Joyful Outfits.  Even though she's still in high school, this little lady's got style for miles.  Her blog is one of my daily reads, and I am constantly inspired by her creative and chic outfits.  If you haven't popped over for a visit yet, do so right now.  You can thank me later.

Hi everyone! I'm Joyce from Joyful Outfits and I'm so excited to be guest posting here while Kym is on vacation. Above are some outfit ideas for the holiday season ranging from casual to fancy. Though I usually wear something very casual on Thanksgiving (the first outfit is my mashed potato making outfit!), I also included an outfit idea for those who want to dress up a bit more. Hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Sharon's Fall Favorites

Hi guys! I'm Sharon from The Tiny Heart. I blog about petite fashion and life with my hubby and two dogs at the Jersey shore. Kym asked me to put together my fall favorites, so I decided to show you my go-to outfit in the fall. I'm always wearing some version of this look!

 Get the look: Scarf//Tee//Jeans//Boots

1. Leopard scarf. Leopard is quickly becoming the new neutral and the scarf will keep you warm on those chilly fall days. Don't have a leopard one? Swap it out for a solid scarf.

2. Striped tee. Stripes are my favorite pattern and they're a fun twist on a basic tee. A polka dot tee would also work well for this look.

3. Skinny Jeans. Skinny jeans are all I wear in the fall since their slim shape allows you to easily tuck them into boots. Sometimes it's fun to mix it up with colored skinny jeans (but then be sure to tone down either the tee or the scarf).

4. Riding boots. This season is all about the riding boots! Go for a dressier pair and you'll be able to wear them with skirts/dresses too.

Thanks so much to Kym for allowing me to take over her blog today! Come say hi to me at The Tiny Heart.

Happy Halloween!

The boyfriend and I ran off to Las Vegas for the week.  While I'm gone I've got some great guest posts lined up for you later on where my buddies and I will be talking about which items we can't live without during fall.

But for now, here's some simple, fun, and most importantly - last minute - Halloween ideas for all of you fellow procrastinators out there who usually make the decision ahead of time not to bother with a costume, and then scramble 20 minutes before going out to put one together because you just can't force yourself to grow up enough to not dress up on Halloween yet.  No?  None of you do that?  Just me?  Well, then...

  1. Be a unicorn.  Erica Domesek of P.S. I Made This shows us how to pull a whole costume together, but I say just stick the horn on your head and people will get the idea.
  2. Paint rainbow stripes on your eyelids.  The girls at The Beauty Department show us how.
  3. Ok, so I admit the ones in this video are totally corny, but hey, you did wait until the last minute.  (I especially love the Chick in a Box).
  4. For an obscure reference very few are sure to understand, grab a blond wig, black rimmed glasses, striped tights, some red lipstick, and be Kelly.
  5. Or use that same blond wig, glue on a beard & a bow, and go as that fashion girl. (p.s.. - keep your eye open for Kelly.  p.p.s. - I've said most of that sh*t).
  6. And finally, if you're really lame, you could do what hunny bunny & I did last year: cut a mustache or goatee out of felt and eyelash glue that puppy to your face.
Are you dressing up this year?  If you've blogged about it, please leave a link in the comments.  I'm always looking for costume ideas to steal take inspiration from!

Meet Rachel

Hello lovely readers of bitty.and.bunny. How are you doing today? All good I hope?

Well, the super amazing Kym has asked if I would do a guest post for her whilst she's off gallivanting, and of course I jumped at the chance; I mean bitty.and.bunny readers must be super cool just like the lady herself!

I'm Rachel by the way, Kym's British Blogging Buddy, and I blog over at Rachel The Hat where I generally ramble on and play dress up 3 times a week ;)

So the theme Set is; Show me what you'd wear on a road trip.

We often do a 4 hour trip to hubby's parents house in London so I feel well equipped for this assignment.  So without further a do here's my outfit!

Shirt, Skirt and top underneath: Next
Shoes: Old
Bag: Old
Belt: Vintage (used to hubbys when he was a rocker at 18!haha!)

Now for the logic :

To me any road-trip requires a large amount of comfort. I do however still like to try and look half decent (unless I'm traveling at some ungodly hour, where in those events it's jammies all the way).

To me Maxi skirts are super comfy, they're like freedom for your legs whilst not being in the nudie!

Shoes; Have to be comfy and slip ons so I can take off and put on easily once in the car.

Chambray shirt; for when the air con's on a little high or when the temperature drops.

BIG bag; I'm a Mum so I carry a huge amount of crap around with me on a daily basis; on any given road trip you can add an extra ton of crap and that would be about right. So big bags are a must.

Sunglasses; That's a given right? I have sunnies in my car even in winter. Squinting equals wrinkles. No thank you Ma'am!

Funky top; for if I want to take the chambray off and look a bit smart, you know if we're stopping en route for lunch.

Add a sweep of red lippy and I am good to go. Red lipstick makes everything better in my eyes.

Now when I pack I tend to pack a leettlle too much; it's a problem I'm working on.  But I figured, if I can wear a lot of things then it means I can pack less (or more as it seems to be!) Each of the pieces  I pick for my road trips are things that will work with all other things I've packed. The top can be remixed with shorts/jeans. The skirt can have a different top, the shoes go with everything and we all know you can pretty much stick a chambray shirt with anything!

Genius I tell you.

So there you have it folks, my road-trippin' outfit!

Hope you like it!

I'm off to go and dream about holidays and make a mental made up list of what I'd pack to go to my dream destination. A girl can dream right?

Take it steady ladies

Rachel

Meet Joyce

Hi everyone! I'm Joyce from Joyful Outfits and I am so excited to be guest blogging here today while Kym is on a road trip :) So this is what I would wear on a road trip. When I am traveling, I always like wearing comfy clothes and shoes.  ALWAYS.  Thus, the loose top, loose sweater vest, and the flat shoes.  And just to make this outfit a bit more fun, I decided to also wear the necklace.

Festival Ware

{tank: target  |  boots: kamik  |  similar shorts, similar backpack, necklace: f21  |  bracelets: f21, delias, diy}

If you've been reading for a while, you know that I make no pretense of having any semblance of a cool or exciting life.  But on occasion, I do get down with the get down.  And it's usually in summer, in the form of an outdoor day-long concert or festival.

And this is the kind of outfit I usually wear.  I like a light and breezy top to keep cool, with a bikini underneath so I can dry a little faster after walking through the misting tent (and if things really heat up I can take off the shirt, and for whatever reason, not feel as awkward running around in a bikini as I would in my skivvies).  Shorts need no explanation, and wellies help protect my feet from all of the mud, dirt, and dust that inevitably accumulates with the constant stampede of thousands of dancing feet.

If I'm really lucky, maybe I'll get some interesting tan lines courtesy of that tank top.  Because nothing says "I spent all day listening to music" like a lace-patterned tan.

Find me linking up with Sharon, and over here as well.
