New Year's Eve-spiration

{Have you entered the Old Factory Giveaway yet?}

Hey guys. If you follow me on Pinterest, you'll see that I've been all over it lately gathering NYE inspiration. Because a perfectly acceptable evening to wear gobs of glitter and scads of sequins only comes around but once a year. Since tonight's the big night, I thought I'd share some of my favorite pins with you (you know, in case you still haven't decided what to wear, which makeup to rock, what hairstyle to do, how to paint your nails, or which pre-party cocktail you'll be whipping up....which sounds like absolutely no one I know; nope, no sir, not me).

No matter what how you're dressed, what you drink, how much glitter you've got on, or how you spend your evening, I wish you the happiest, healthiest New Year full of love, laughter, and happiness!
--:::--   Cheers to 2015!   --:::--
See you in the new year.

Merry Christmas

source

Is it weird to wish you a Merry Christmas after Christmas is over?
Maybe.
But probably not as weird as the friends of mine who will be receiving Christmas cards from me after we've already rung in the new year.
As you can clearly tell, I am totally on top of stuff around here.

I hope you all had a very merry,
cozy and bright,
laughing with loved ones
Christmas night.

  1. H&M Poncho $29.95 Is there anything cozier?
  2. Pom Pom Throw Blanket ....Ok, maybe this blanket is.  But only marginally.
  3. Godiva Hot Cocoa $9.99
  4. Bestey Johnson Gem Beanie $28
  5. Starbucks Gift Card - I mean, who wouldn't love a free latte or 10?
  6. Old Factory Candle set $25 These unique candle sets come in all kinds of fun themes.  Like Man Cave, for instance. Or High as a Kite.  Or 50 Shades (featuring leather) if that's more your speed.
  7. Heart Quilted Faux Leather Gloves $12.90
  8. Crazy Cat Lady Mug $12  Because we all know at least one.

And now I have a gift for you - a giveaway!  Here's your chance to score an Old Factory candle gift set of your own, in the theme of your choice. Sorry, but this one is only open to my U.S.-based buddies with an Amazon account; Old Factory can't ship outside of the country at this time.

I got a chance to sample these candles, and I have to tell you that they pack a punch! They're on the small size - just 2oz. each, but you'd never know it when burning them. The scent isn't overpowering, though; it's just enough to scent a small room really nicely. I chose the Man Cave set because it was just so different and unique: straight razor, leather, and mahogany were included. They smell really good (and not overly manly) separately, but burned simultaneously is where the magic really happens.

They're made in the U.S. with soy wax and a self-trimming wick. Plus, the cute packaging: They come in simple glass jars with brown paper labels and black lids, then the whole thing is wrapped up in a nice cardboard box with a rustic-chic feel.  But really, they had me at brown craft paper.

Last week Meagan, of Meagan's Moda, rocked a look that I can only describe as Reindeer Chic.  I never knew a reindeer tee could look so sophisticated.  It certainly didn't when I wore mine.  If only I had known, reindeer tee + blanket scarf + camel blazer = pure brilliance.

I'm of the belief that stocking stuffers are more fun when they are small, but thoughtful gifts.  Don't get me wrong, fill my stocking with candy, batteries, and scratch offs and I'm a happy camper.  But don't you just love wrapping up small presents and tucking them away in somebody's stocking?  It's always a happy surprise when the recipient discovers that extra special something in there.

1. e.l.f. 14 Piece Nail Polish Set (limited edition) $14 at $1 per bottle it's a great value, and you can split these up to drop one or two in each of your friends' stockings
3. Hair Jewelry $4.49 (see it in action here)
4. UNO! $6.29
7. Victoria's Secret Bombshell perfume $52 the bottle looks girly, but actually smells fantastic on a girl or a guy...and now you all know that my boyfriend wears ladies perfume.

Favorite Fashion Friday #73

As soon as I came across Crissy's outfit at Some Velvet Morning, I knew it would be the one I featured this week.  She is so quirky and fun, and her photo shoot in this post is everything.  You really need to click over to see it.  I will just say this: she has giant balls.

Super Trooper

___________________________

Given that most of the country is already in the midst of winter weather (NJ included!), I realize that photos of me wearing just a sweater and a denim jacket look preposterous. I agree. But I took these before Thanksgiving, when it was actually still fall during fall (and not this winter-during-fall we're currently experiencing). And good thing, because almost right on cue, I got sick as soon as I got back home. And I'm pretty sure standing outside in the snow without a coat taking outfit photos is not what you'd call a formula for getting well soon.

Luckily, I have this cozy Callanan Trooper hat lined with fleece and faux fur to keep me warm. It looked good when I wore it with my jean jacket the other day, but right now it looks especially chic paired with my pajamas and ever-present box of tissues.

Linking here today.
Disclaimer: I received this hat courtesy of Callanan as a trial sample.  No other compensation was provided.  All opinions are my own.

Favorite Fashion Friday #72

 photo FavoriteFashionFridaylogo_zpsf66ade9e.jpg

Hi, guys!  I'm back from my trip just in time for Favorite Fashion Friday.  I hope you all had a great Thanksgiving full of delicious food, lots of laughs, and all the family dysfunction you'd expect when  relatives gather to share a meal.

My favorite this week comes from Liz at Sprinkles + Sequins.  Her outfit is so cool I can't even stand it.  I mean, maroon coated skinnys and a bad ass (p)leather jacket.  I'm just going to file this one as an urgent note to self: find maroon coated skinny jeans, like right now.
